About Me

I am an OFSTED & PACEY registered and insured childminder with the added benefit of a BTEC National Diploma in Caring Services Nursery Nursing, including 18 distinctions and Three Outstanding merits. I have worked in an education setting for the past Twenty Five Years from managing my own day nursery (including Special Educational Needs Coordinator), working with the Under 8's Team at Social Services as a peripatetic play leader, managing toddler groups to working in Primary schools as a level Two Teaching Assistant for 8 Years, previous to becoming a full-time childminder in 2010.

I have a son, Benjamin (15) and a daughter, Abigail (18) (Abigail is registered with OFSTED and has a enhanced DBS). My husband Christopher works with me as my part-time assistant and business manager (fully licensed, First Aid trained OFSTED registered, Enhanced DBS etc...), He has worked with-in education as a Primary School Key Stage One and Two Teacher for 20 years before joining me in running the business. We have  two cats!

I enjoy working with children and accepting them into our home, I aim to make them feel part of the family.

I firmly believe that all children have the right to access any form of play, Early Years Child Provision, no matter what their capabilities are, and always put their concerns first.

Children thrive in stimulating environments and I work hard to make sure I provide one through the planning and the daily activities and the rooms we are using.

Our home is warm, happy and welcoming and I aim to offer a happy, nurturing, friendly environment for your little ones to thrive in so you can happily leave them in my care.

I offer a variety of stimulating activities covering all the areas of development and will plan activities to cover a child's age/stage of development.

I'm lucky to have a nice sized enclosed garden for the children to have fun in and also Sutton lawn within walking distance so lots of outside activities daily and also visit play groups, soft play centres, library's, other local parks.

All healthy meals, snacks and drinks are included at my setting.

My Home and Facilities

Children's needs are best met when space and resources allow children to play and learn.

The environment should be warm and welcoming to children and parents.

It should be safe and secure, with space organized and used to promote children's development.

I live in a spacious 4 bedroom house with a good sized garden, a large kitchen/ diner where we eat meals and do Art and Crafts and baking activities etc....This leads onto the lounge for more space for the children to spread out, with the added benefit of a television and a DVD player for educational use. We also have an integral garage for added storage of larger play equipment with a downstairs toilet and sink.

Outside the front garden is laid with lawn and hedges with parking.

To the back garden there is a patio area which has been low-walled off from the actual garden itself. The grassed area has safety wood chippings around all borders. We have a twin slide and climber, a full-sized caterpillar climb and crawl and a bark-chipped playhouse with a variety of outdoor toys from a kitchen with pots and pans (and of course, lots and lots of mud!) to hula hoops! We also have a variety of play vehicles for the children to experiment in such as push along cars and also battery powered vehicles. And not forgetting the large sandpit for hours of castle building!

The rest of the garden is laid with lawn and there are a mix of flowering trees and bushes.

All records of children and parents are kept accurate and up to date, they are stored securely and kept confidential at all times, as per current safeguarding legal obligations and GDPR regulations.
